Strengthening the research on basic packaging machinery technology is urgently needed

Although the annual growth rate of China's packaging industry ranks first among traditional industries, there are still many problems in the packaging machinery industry. In recent years, although China's packaging machinery has made significant progress, its technological level is still lagging behind compared to developed countries. Compared with foreign suppliers, Chinese packaging machinery enterprises still have obvious disadvantages.

With the development of China's packaging industry, packaging machinery has also made significant progress. However, compared to developed countries, there are still significant differences in packaging machinery in China, such as the outdated technological level of the packaging machinery industry. Chinese packaging machinery enterprises are generally small in scale and have dispersed production forces. Due to various reasons such as capital investment and enterprise system, most manufacturers lack experience in marketing management.

There are few domestic manufacturers that can provide a complete production line from packaging individual products to end packaging equipment. Faced with the packaging design, new product development, certification consulting services, technical training, and supporting services provided by European and American manufacturers, there is still a big gap between us.

It is understood that currently, the countries with high levels of packaging and packaging machinery abroad mainly include the United States, Germany, Japan, Italy, and the United Kingdom. And Germany's packaging machinery is in a leading position in design, manufacturing, and technical performance. The technological content of domestic equipment is lower than that of European and American products, and generally lags behind foreign equipment of the same period by 510 years. Our domestically produced equipment is lower than foreign products in terms of production speed, output, accuracy, and stability of equipment operation, especially in automatic packaging machines and vacuum packaging machines. Our gap is significant, lagging behind European products by more than 10 years.

At present, the technological level of packaging machinery enterprises in China is significantly less competitive compared to developed countries in the world, mainly manifested as: firstly, there are few professional and technical talents in packaging machinery in China, and a lack of professional research and development teams. Product technology is outdated, and blindly imitating cannot solve the fundamental problems in the industry. Secondly, the low degree of automation is also an important key point where domestic equipment cannot compete with packaging equipment in developed countries. Finally, both enterprises and machinery lack international certification testing. If we cannot quickly strengthen and improve our technological level and grade, the gap with developed countries will be further widened.

Faced with disadvantages and various shortcomings, domestic packaging machinery enterprises need to identify the reasons, treat the symptoms and root causes, seize opportunities and face challenges, improve from multiple aspects such as technological innovation, product design, and after-sales service, and ultimately make our packaging machinery research and production technology reach the world's advanced level.

At present, the development trend of packaging machinery in the world is towards high production efficiency, efficient utilization of resources, energy-saving of products, practical application of high-tech, and commercialization of scientific research achievements. It is urgent to strengthen the basic technology research of China's packaging machinery industry.
